What is consulting?

A consultation session is a 60-minute one-on-one call. I answer any questions you may have, such as strategies for going to market, branding, marketing, business models, and pricing. Anything related to marketing I can answer and give advice. This is meant to be extremely affordable, allowing startups of all stages to get the advice they need. Whether just starting out or just needing advice on a certain aspect, this session packs a lot of value. Upon booking a session, you must fill out a Discovery Form so that I can get a better understanding of your business to provide the best advice possible.
What is advising?

I provide ongoing support for clients on a retainer basis. You pay for access to me, not for my time. I provide strategy, tips, and feedback. I am available to answer questions via text, slack, and voice messages. It also includes two 60-minute strategy calls per month This is great for startups who can’t afford someone to provide both strategy and execution, but still need advice or for startups that are further along but need ongoing support to ensure they stay on the path to success.
What’s the difference between consulting and advising?

Consulting is a one-time strategy call while advising provides ongoing support with open communication and dedicated monthly strategy calls.
What does “fractional” mean?

Fractional means working part-time in your business. It is incredibly hands-on. I am not just providing strategy I am in the trenches working alongside you are your marketing leader.
Why a monthly retainer for consulting and fractional work?

Retainers allow you to have predictable monthly expenses for your budget. This is crucial as an early-stage startup to ensure you have enough cash to survive.
Can I pay your fractional service by the hour?

I do not have an hourly rate. Consulting and fractional services are only available on a 3-month retainer basis. I have 14 years of experience. I know what to do and what not to do. I have it figured out already. An hourly rate would not represent the value I am bringing because I move faster simply because I know what I am doing. I do offer 60-minute strategy sessions at $150 each.
What is the Discovery Document?

A Discovery Document is required to do a 60-minute advising strategy call. It asks several questions that allow me to have a better understanding of your startup before meeting with you.
What is the Discovery Call

A Discovery Call is only for consulting clients. This 60-minute call allows be to ask more questions about your startup that could not be covered by the Discovery Document. This is required at the beginning of the retainer.
What is the Deep Dive Discovery Session?

A Deep Dive Discovery Session is only for fractional clients. It is a 3-hour session where I ask 60 – 100 custom questions about your startup. This is my opportunity to get to know you on a very deep level. This is required a the beginning of the retainer.

Yes, all contracts are electronically signed via Adobe. Each party receives a final copy of the executed agreement.
How long are the retainers?

All contracts are on a rolling 3-month retainer. To cancel the agreement, either party must do so in writing at least 30 days prior to the current contract period ending.
How many hours are included in fractional work per week?

There isn’t a set amount of hours I work each week. Some weeks require more hours while others require less.

Am I just working with you?

You are in control of your budget. Any spending will be approved by you prior and must be paid for under your own account. I do not do expenses for clients.
